The Flower Arranger carries a quiet, corseted eroticism — desire held within form, enchantment within restraint. The spool of thread, thimble, and needle evoke the domestic domain, yet they also suggest how each painting in this body of work is sewn together, threaded with a subtle coherence that deepens the longer you linger.
