The Journal
Woodblock print on antique French book page
Framed — 30×40 cm
Signed by both artists
Printed on an original 19th-century French book page, The Journal merges memory, language, and image into a single poetic relic. The paper — already infused with its own history — receives a hand-carved woodblock impression, creating a striking dialogue between the past and the present.
This collaborative work between Richard Beerhorst and Véronique Cauchefer blends their sensibilities: his tactile printmaking and symbolic narrative, her quiet emotional depth and refined minimalism. The result is a work that feels both intimate and archaeological — like something discovered rather than made.
The block was destroyed and this is the only print that currently we have left.
A work for those who love paper, timeworn objects, and art that whispers rather than shouts.
